Sandhills News Minute: Tuesday, October 28th

Police in Aberdeen arrested a local man, James Dupree, after he was allegedly caught stealing copper wire and piping worth nearly $4,000 from a business on U.S. Highway 5. Dupree faces felony charges and was denied bond by a Moore County magistrate.

In Scotland County, two individuals were charged following a shooting in the Laurel Hill community. Responding officers found one victim injured and airlifted him to a hospital. Timothy Locklear faces attempted murder and conspiracy charges, with a bond set at $150,000. Daisha Bullard was also arrested, with a $100,000 bond.

A local flight drama unfolded at Moore County Airport when an arriving plane circled for nearly thirty minutes due to a miscommunication over runway clearance. Deputies confirmed no runway issues, but the waiting plane eventually returned to Raleigh. Officials later said the earlier pilot simply forgot to radio in after clearing the runway.
