Habitat for Humanity Sandhills Gala 2026: A Kentucky Derby Night for a Cause That Hits Close to Home

If you’re looking for a reason to get dressed up and do something meaningful, the Habitat for Humanity Sandhills Gala 2026 is exactly that. On Saturday, April 26th, Habitat for Humanity of the NC Sandhills is throwing its biggest night of the year — a Kentucky Derby-themed celebration at the iconic Pinehurst Country Club, marking 30 years of building homes and changing lives across the Sandhills.

This isn’t just a party. Every ticket sold, every auction bid placed, and every sponsor that steps up directly supports the organization’s Build-A-House initiative — providing safe, affordable housing for families right here in Moore County and the surrounding Sandhills communities.

What to Expect at the Habitat for Humanity Sandhills Gala 2026

The evening kicks off with General Admission doors opening at 6 p.m. Guests can expect a three-course gourmet dinner, an open bar, and dancing fueled by a live DJ. The dress code? Think Kentucky Derby — fascinators, bow ties, and your finest spring attire are strongly encouraged.

Want the full experience? Grab a VIP Paddock Pass for early entry at 5 p.m. VIP guests get access to the Paddock Pre-Party, featuring Derby-themed specialty cocktails, the Putt for the Roses Challenge, and premium networking opportunities with some of the Sandhills’ most community-minded leaders and philanthropists.

Throughout the evening, guests can participate in both silent and live auctions, with all proceeds going directly to Habitat’s housing mission. If you have a unique item or experience to donate to the auction, the organization welcomes contributions — and they’re tax-deductible.

30 Years of Building the Sandhills

This year’s gala carries extra meaning. Habitat for Humanity of the NC Sandhills is celebrating its 30th anniversary — three decades of partnering with families, volunteers, and donors to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through homeownership in Aberdeen, Southern Pines, Pinehurst, and across Moore County.

The need for affordable housing in our region continues to grow. Events like this gala make it possible for Habitat to keep building — one home, one family, one community at a time.
