Experience the wonder and feel the roar – DRAGON QUEST is coming to town! And it’s free! Sponsored by Moore County Library, this exciting show combines state-of-the-art puppetry, mesmerizing illusions, and a story guaranteed to draw the audience into an enchanted world. Following the show, guests can get up close and personal with a dragon and enjoy ice cream sundaes. This event will be held at the Moore County Agricultural Center, located at 707 Pinehurst Avenue in Carthage.

The League of Women Voters of Moore County will present N.C. Trusted Elections Tour-a nonpartisan town hall. You will hear from election experts explain why your ballot & your vote are secure!

This will be held at the Sunrise Theatre, 250 NW Broad Street, Southern Pines, NC on September 9 from 6:30PM-8:00PM.

The League of Women Voters of Moore County will present a free presentation of Iron Jawed Angels-the story of courageous women who fought to secure women’s suffrage.

The event will be held at the Sunrise Theatre, 250 NW Broad Street, Southern Pines, NC on Sunday, August 25 from 3:00PM-5:15PM.

Based on the original Broadway production that ran for over thirteen years and was nominated for nine Tony Awards, and the Academy Award-winning motion picture, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast JR. is a fantastic adaptation of the story of transformation and tolerance. Disney’s Beauty and the Beast JR. features some of the most popular songs ever written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice.

The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.

This production is performed by students ages 8-18 and rehearsed in just 10 short days! Their sheer talent, resilience, and hard work is something you don’t want to miss!

Red Branch Baptist Church Located at 1748 Old River Rd. in Carthage, NC is holding their annual Vacation Bible School from 6:00PM to 7:30PM  on July 22-25 for ages 4 years old thru 12th grade.
