The Cordova Fire Department is mourning the tragic loss of 16-year-old junior firefighter Gabriel Ennis. The teen was fatally shot Sunday at a home in Ellerbe. Known for his compassion and dedication to public service, Gabe was remembered as someone who made others smile and gave selflessly to his community. The investigation is ongoing.
Seven people are facing charges in Moore County after a drug and weapons raid in Addor. Authorities seized fentanyl, cocaine, ecstasy, a firearm, and untaxed liquor. The search was carried out by Moore County deputies and state agents. Court dates are set for mid-July.
And in Aberdeen, 39-year-old Andrew Bowman has been arrested in connection with a Florida-based fraud case. Police say Bowman accepted payment for work he never completed, then disappeared with both the money and the property. He’s facing charges of fraud and computer misuse.
