The Good, The Bad & The Ugly: A Life-Saving Barber, An Impossible Traffic Ticket & An Excavator-Fueled Breakup

Today’s edition of The Good, The Bad & The Ugly featured a life-saving barbershop program, one of the strangest traffic tickets you’ll ever hear about, and a breakup story involving an excavator.

The Good: Iowa Barber Helps Save Lives

An Iowa barber named Craig Hunt is using his own health scare to help others.

Ten years ago, Craig suffered a stroke while he was working. Now, in partnership with the American Heart Association of Iowa, he is helping lead a program called Blood Pressures in Barbershops.

The program brings local nurses into barbershops to offer free blood pressure checks and teach people how to recognize the early warning signs of a stroke.

Craig’s goal is simple: help people catch problems early and maybe even save lives one haircut at a time.

The Bad: Florida Woman Ticketed for Using a Hand She Doesn’t Have

A Florida woman named Kathleen Thomas recently had a traffic ticket dismissed after a deputy accused her of using her phone with her right hand while driving.

The problem? Thomas is an amputee and is missing her right hand from the elbow down.

The citation was eventually dismissed, and footage from the traffic stop has now been released.

The story has gained attention because of just how obvious the issue seems in hindsight.

The Ugly: Pennsylvania Man Tears Down House After Marriage Ends

A Pennsylvania man is facing trouble after allegedly using an excavator to tear down his own house following the end of his marriage.

Police say Erik Pierswza began demolishing the home after his wife told him their marriage was over.

He later turned himself in to authorities.

It is one of those stories that takes the phrase “home wrecker” to a whole new level.
