Sandhills Community College and ATEX Offer Job Training With Guaranteed Interviews

Sandhills Community College Empower to Work workshop

PINEHURST, N.C. — Sandhills Community College and ATEX Technologies are partnering on a two-day pre-employment workshop for people interested in local manufacturing careers.

The workshop will be held Tuesday, Sept. 15, and Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 3 to 6 p.m. in Kennedy Hall on the Sandhills Community College campus in Pinehurst.

Training available for three ATEX positions

The program is designed to prepare applicants for three production roles at ATEX Technologies:

  • Intricate assembly technician
  • Quality inspection technician
  • Weave technician

Available positions are associated with ATEX’s second shift, which runs from 3 to 11 p.m., and third shift, which runs from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Starting pay is $17.50 per hour. ATEX also offers continued training, employee testing and opportunities for career advancement.

Completion includes a guaranteed interview

Participants who successfully complete the two-day workshop will receive a guaranteed interview with ATEX Technologies. Completion of the workshop and interview does not guarantee employment, but it gives applicants an opportunity to demonstrate their skills directly to the company.

The workshop is eligible for a fee waiver, meaning qualifying participants may be able to attend without paying the course fee.

Refreshments will be available during the sessions. Childcare arrangements may also be provided upon request, helping remove a potential obstacle for parents interested in participating.

How to register for the ATEX workshop

Space is limited, and advance registration is required. Interested applicants can register online at sandhills.edu/go/atex.

For more information about the workshop, registration requirements or childcare arrangements, call Sandhills Community College at 910-246-4969.

The partnership is part of Sandhills Community College’s continuing workforce-development efforts, which connect area residents with training for jobs available through local employers.
