Pinehurst Property Tax Rate Decrease Proposed for 2027 Budget

Pinehurst update

Pinehurst property tax rate decrease 2027 is being considered as village leaders review the upcoming budget. Homeowners could see a slight reduction in their tax rate, even as the town navigates financial challenges and long-term planning.

The proposed rate would drop to 22 cents per $100 of property value, a small but notable decrease for residents in the Pinehurst area.

The draft budget totals around $33 million, with revenues slightly trailing expenditures. To bridge the gap, officials plan to use approximately $3.8 million from the town’s fund balance.

Despite the tax cut, leaders say the budget maintains core services and reduces overall spending by about 5%, largely through lower capital expenses.

The budget also includes employee pay increases and funding for new positions, including public safety and library staff.

What Pinehurst Residents Should Know

The Pinehurst property tax rate decrease 2027 may provide some relief for homeowners, but it also raises questions about long-term sustainability.

Village leaders say the plan is designed to balance financial responsibility with maintaining high-quality services for residents and visitors.

A public hearing is scheduled before the final vote in June, giving residents a chance to weigh in on the proposal.
