O’Neal School Names New Director of Development in Southern Pines

The O’Neal School new director of development announcement marks a significant step forward for the Southern Pines private school as it continues to expand its fundraising and community engagement efforts.

The school recently named Dena Rae Hancock to the role, bringing more than 25 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, and advancement.

Hancock has built a career leading major fundraising initiatives and developing strong relationships with donors, alumni, and community partners. She most recently served with Breakthrough T1D in Raleigh, where she led corporate partnerships and fundraising efforts.

Her previous roles include leadership positions in higher education, nonprofit organizations, and philanthropic institutions across the country.

At The O’Neal School, Hancock will oversee development programs including major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, and alumni engagement.
