Moore County Schools Seek Lottery Funding for New Technology Building

Moore County School

Moore County Schools is preparing to request lottery funding for a new information technology building to better support students, staff, and district operations.

District leaders say the current IT facility at the Community Learning Center at Pinckney is in poor condition, with roof leaks, failing HVAC systems, and limited workspace. The building supports more than 13,000 students and 1,800 staff across the district.

Why a New Building Is Needed

School officials estimate renovations would cost up to $1.8 million and still fail to meet long-term needs. Instead, the district is proposing a new design-build technology center on its Vass-Carthage Road property.

The proposal will be reviewed during an upcoming Moore County Board of Education meeting before being sent to county commissioners for consideration.
