Moore County Man Chasing Drivers Sparks Safety Concerns

According to reports from the Richmond Observer, 57-year-old Curtis Dean Campbell is accused of chasing drivers and running at least one person off the road in Moore County. The incident reportedly occurred along roads near Pinebluff, raising serious safety concerns for local drivers.

Officials say Campbell then crossed into Richmond County, where he allegedly attempted to chase another individual. Deputies later tried to stop him for reckless driving after reports of him traveling at high speeds.

Crash Leads to Arrest and Discovery of Stolen Property

The situation came to an end when Campbell crashed his vehicle. Authorities say they discovered a large amount of stolen property inside, including items taken from a box truck.

The stolen items were valued at approximately $3,500 and included tools, equipment, and other materials. Investigators say the theft occurred shortly before the crash.

Campbell now faces multiple charges, including felony larceny, breaking and entering a motor vehicle, fleeing to elude arrest, reckless driving, and hit-and-run violations.

Ongoing Legal Process in Moore County and Richmond County

The Moore County man chasing drivers is currently being held in the Richmond County Jail under a $25,000 secured bond. He has upcoming court dates scheduled in both Moore County and Richmond County.

As with all criminal cases, Campbell is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
