According to the Moore County Health Department, anyone who was at the pro shop during that timeframe may have been exposed to the virus. While there are currently no confirmed measles cases in Moore County, officials are urging residents to remain alert and take precautions.

What to Know About Measles Exposure in Aberdeen

The measles exposure in Aberdeen is a concern because the virus is highly contagious and spreads through the air. It can remain active in the air for up to two hours after an infected person leaves the area, increasing the risk of transmission in indoor spaces.

Symptoms typically appear between 7 and 14 days after exposure but can take up to 21 days. Residents are advised to monitor their health through April 1 if they were at the Legacy Golf Course location.

Common symptoms include:

  • High fever
  • Cough and runny nose
  • Red or watery eyes
  • White spots inside the mouth
  • A red rash that spreads from the face downward

What Moore County Residents Should Do
