Aberdeen NC 2026-27 Budget Draft Revealed: No Tax Increase but Fee Changes Possible

Town of Aberdeen

The Aberdeen NC 2026-27 budget draft is now under review, giving residents an early look at how town leaders plan to allocate funds for the upcoming fiscal year.

What’s Included in the Aberdeen, NC 2026-27 Budget Draft

The proposed general fund totals just over $18 million, with an additional $6 million allocated for water and sewer services. Importantly, the draft does not include a property tax increase.

Town leaders say the Aberdeen NC 2026-27 budget draft is still in its early stages, with multiple meetings scheduled before final adoption.

Potential Changes for Residents

While property taxes may remain unchanged, residents could see small increases in trash collection and wastewater fees. Officials say those changes reflect rising service costs from the county.

The Aberdeen NC 2026-27 budget draft also includes proposed pay raises for town employees, with adjustments ranging from 4% to potentially 10% depending on position and market conditions.

Investments in Public Safety and Infrastructure

The budget outlines potential investments in public safety equipment, including new vehicles, technology upgrades, and additional cameras to improve community safety.

Other projects include facility upgrades, park improvements, and infrastructure maintenance across the town.

The Aberdeen NC 2026-27 budget draft reflects a focus on maintaining services while planning for future growth in the Sandhills region.

Residents will have opportunities to provide input before the budget is finalized later this year.
