Southern Pines Teen Shooting Sends Two Teens To Hospital

Two teenagers were injured Thursday afternoon following a Southern Pines teen shooting at the Brookside Apartments on Richards Street, according to emergency officials and law enforcement.

Emergency crews responded to the 900 block of Richards Street around 12:15 p.m. after reports of a shooting incident in the apartment complex. Dispatchers later confirmed that two victims had been injured.

According to officials, both teenage victims were transported by ambulance to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Their injuries were described as not immediately life-threatening.

Investigation Underway Following Southern Pines Teen Shooting

Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including Southern Pines Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, the Moore County Sheriff’s Office, and the Southern Pines Police Department.

Investigators remained at the scene Thursday afternoon, processing evidence and speaking with witnesses as part of the ongoing investigation into the Southern Pines teen shooting.

Officials said there is currently no known ongoing threat to the community related to the incident.

Air Care was initially contacted to assist with transportation, but weather conditions prevented helicopter availability.

The incident drew a significant emergency response presence to the Brookside Apartments area, located in Southern Pines near several residential neighborhoods.

The Southern Pines Police Department is encouraging anyone with information connected to the case to come forward.

As of Thursday evening, investigators had not released additional details regarding possible suspects or what may have led to the shooting.

The Southern Pines teen shooting remains under active investigation.
