SEVEN LAKES, N.C. — Drivers traveling through Seven Lakes should prepare for several nights of construction-related closures beginning Thursday, September 10.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation says Seven Lakes Drive will close between N.C. Highway 211 and MacDougall Drive each night through September 17, weather permitting.

Closure Hours
The road will close at 9 p.m. each night and is scheduled to reopen by 6 a.m. the following morning.
The overnight schedule is intended to reduce the effect on daytime traffic, but drivers traveling through the area during evening and early-morning hours should allow additional time.
Storm Drains and Waterlines
NCDOT says crews will use the closures to replace storm drains and crossline pipes. Waterlines located within the construction area will also be relocated.
The work is part of the ongoing N.C. 211 widening project, which includes roadway, drainage and traffic-flow improvements through the Seven Lakes and West End area.
Posted Detour
During each closure, motorists will be directed along a posted detour using N.C. 211, Love Grove Church Road, Carthage Road and Seven Lakes Drive.
Drivers should watch for barricades, construction equipment and crews working near the roadway. Motorists are also encouraged to reduce their speed and follow all posted traffic signs.
Because the construction schedule is weather-dependent, closure dates and times could change. Current traffic conditions and road-closure information are available through DriveNC.gov.
