NASCAR
NASCAR is shaking things up for 2026! They’re bringing back the classic 10-race “Chase” format for the championship. The top 16 drivers from the regular season will compete—no more automatic spots just for a win. Points reset for the playoffs, and wins are now worth 55 points, so every victory counts. No elimination rounds, no one-race title decider—the champion will be whoever scores the most points over those final 10 races. NASCAR says this move rewards consistency and big wins after fans pushed back on the old system.
Hornets fall to Clippers

Canes fall in OT
And on the ice, the Canes were in comeback mode, scoring 3 in the third to head into OT against the Red Wings. Jackson Blake started the comeback, before Seth Jarvis; short-handed goal and Shayne Goss-tis-bear scored on a power play with 3 and change left in the third. Detroit bested Carolina 4-3 in extra time.
