Man Accused of Posing as High School Student Charged in Robeson County

A Robeson County man is facing multiple felony charges after authorities say he impersonated a student at Red Springs High School and had sexual contact with minors.

According to WTVD, 21-year-old Matthew Edward Jones was noticed by school staff walking the campus. After questioning him, staff determined he was not a student and immediately contacted law enforcement.

Multiple Felony Charges Filed

Investigators later uncovered allegations involving sexual assaults that occurred off campus. Jones has been charged with statutory sexual offense with a child under 15, indecent liberties with a child, solicitation of a child by computer, and multiple counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Jones is currently being held without bond at the Robeson County Detention Center as the investigation continues.
