The Moore County Board of Education has a full schedule planned for Monday, September 14, with meetings beginning in the morning and continuing into the evening.
The board’s work session is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at the Moore County Schools Central Office boardroom in Carthage. Board members are scheduled to enter closed session at 4 p.m., followed by the public portion of the regular business meeting at 5:30 p.m.
Several items affecting students and district operations appear on the combined agenda. Those items include a first reading of proposed new and revised board policies, deed restrictions connected to the Davis property and a proposed revision to middle-school athletic eligibility requirements.
Board members are also expected to consider the purchase of two new mini activity buses. Additional presentations will cover district operations, Moore County Schools athletics and the latest North Carolina High School Athletic Association realignment.
Residents who want to address the board during public comment must register in person. The public-comment sign-up period is scheduled from 4:45 until 5:25 p.m. Speakers are generally given up to three minutes.
The meetings will be held at the Moore County Schools Central Office, located at 5277 U.S. Highway 15-501 South in Carthage. Regular meetings are also streamed online through the district’s YouTube channel.
