A Hoke County High School senior is already making an impact in health care thanks to curiosity, dedication, and the power of volunteering.

Kymora Poole, 18, began her journey as a teen volunteer at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, where she gained hands-on experience working alongside nurses and certified nursing assistants. What started as volunteering quickly turned into a clear career path.

While still in high school, Kymora enrolled in the CNA program at Sandhills Community College and was hired at FirstHealth at just 17 years old. She now works on the Neuro unit and plans to attend nursing school next fall.

Kymora credits the support of her coworkers and her family for helping her balance school and work, and she hopes her story encourages other teens to explore volunteer opportunities.

Her success reflects the mission of FirstFutures, FirstHealth’s workforce development program focused on building the next generation of health care professionals across the Sandhills.
