Cypress Pointe Fire & Rescue Responds to Busiest Shift of 2026 on MLK Day

While many residents across the Sandhills spent Martin Luther King Jr. Day enjoying a day off, local first responders were hard at work.

According to Cypress Pointe Fire and Rescue, firefighters experienced their busiest shift of 2026 so far, responding to a total of 10 calls over the course of the holiday.

A Busy Day for Local Firefighters

The department shared that the high call volume serves as a reminder that emergencies don’t take holidays off. Despite the increased demand, crews remained ready and responsive throughout the shift.

“While most folks were enjoying a day off in remembrance of Martin Luther King Jr., Cypress Pointe Fire/Rescue firefighters had their busiest shift of 2026 so far with a total of 10 calls,” the department stated.

Community Appreciation

Cypress Pointe Fire and Rescue also expressed appreciation for the continued support from the community, emphasizing the importance of preparedness and teamwork during busy periods.

Local officials encourage residents to stay mindful of safety, especially during holidays when call volumes can increase.
