November 10th, 2025 Moore County Solid Waste will host its annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event on Saturday, November 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pinecrest High School, locatedon Voit Gilmore Road in Southern Pines. In addition to the collection of household hazardous materials, paper shredding will beprovided by Keep Moore County Beautiful, and a medication drop-off will be offered by theMoore County Sheriff’s Office. Accepted items include common household hazardous waste such as gasoline, paint, lightbulbs, antifreeze, batteries, and similar materials. Residents are encouraged to arrive early,as crowds are typically heaviest before noon. Paper shredding will take place in theadjacent parking lot, with a limit of eight bags per vehicle.Please note that commercial waste and electronic waste will not be accepted at this event.
