Refuse to be a Victim Class

Refuse To Be A Victim Crime Prevention Seminar to be Held at
MOORE COUNTY WILDLIFE & CONSERVATION CLUB
CARTHAGE NC
The National Rifle Association’s award-winning crime prevention and personal safety seminar,
Refuse To Be A Victim®, will be held [APRIL 25, 2026] with registration starting at 9:45am at
1820 Camp Easter Rd, Carthage NC 28327. The cost will be $25 if pre-registered or $30 for
walk-ins. Register in advance online at MCWCC.org.
Developed in response to nationwide requests for crime prevention seminars, Refuse To Be A
Victim teaches methods to avoid dangerous situations and prevent criminal confrontations.
Seminar participants will be presented with a variety of common-sense crime prevention and
personal safety strategies and devices that may be integrated into their personal, home,
automobile, telephone, technological, and travel security.
Since 1993, Refuse To Be A Victim has been endorsed by law enforcement members throughout
the United States for its positive impact. With more than 5,000 instructors, seminars have been
held in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and other countries.
Also, for those interested in attending the NRA New Shooter Seminar, which will be held
immediately following this seminar, are invited to stay. The New Shooter Seminar covers gun
safety, storage, types of firearms, their parts, what to expect on the Range and more! The cost
for attending this NRA Seminar is only $5 for those attending the preceding Refuse To Be A
Victim seminar.

Live Theatre: Tall Tales of Appalachia!

Experience the magic of Tall Tales of Appalachia, a lively collection of American folktales brought to life on stage! This educational and entertaining show celebrates the rich cultural heritage of North Carolina through legends of the Cherokee people, Davy Crockett adventures, and classic Appalachian Jack Tales. This show will tour the community as well as have in-house shows at Encore in February.

Clenny Creek Heritage Day

Clenny Creek Heritage Day is the annual rite of spring showcasing the 1820s Bryant House and 1760s Joel McLendon Cabin. Old-time activities such as quilting, weaving, cooking over the fire, woodworking, blacksmithing, and living history will take place throughout the day. Civil War reenactors will be camped onsite. Children can enjoy the freedom of exploring the grounds while participating in a scavenger hunt, wood working activities, and farm animal petting areas. Visitors can sample food prepared by local Grange members as they listen to some great front porch music. Local products for sale will include fresh eggs, vegetable plants, native plants, soap, and honey. Golf carts will be available to transport visitors from the parking area which is in an adjoining sand field. This free event, sponsored by the Moore County Historical Association and Friends of the Bryant House, starts at 10:00 am and ends at 4:00 pm. on Saturday, April 18th at 3361 Mt. Carmel Rd. Carthage, NC 28327.
