CHOCOLATE FESTIVAL

Chocolate lovers—and shoppers for chocolate lovers—won’t want to miss the Chocolate Festival on Saturday, February 8, from 9:00-1:00 at the Pinehurst United Methodist Church located at 4111 Airport Road in Pinehurst. This legendary benefit event is held once every two years and includes chocolate baked goods and confections that will dazzle and delight. A gift boutique, a cake walk, cooking and decorating with a local chef, a silent auction are all part of the Festival, and for those who come hungry, a donut/hot chocolate café, and boxed lunches are available. All proceeds will benefit Family Promise of Moore County, the Sandhills Coalition for Human Care, and Kind Souls, Inc. For more information contact Cathy at 910-215-4559.

Southern Pines Elks Lodge 1692 is hosting the local round of the Elks Hoop Shoot, We had a girl advance to the National Finals 2 years ago.

Tea with Seagrove Potters

Discover your favorite teapot on a driving tour through Seagrove.  Enjoy a tea tasting experience as you shop hop within 5 miles along NC Pottery Highway. 
Enjoy a hot cup of tea at this Spring event.  Featured pottery for this event includes teapots and cups. Enjoy tea tasting experience at Blue Hen Pottery, Dean and Martin Pottery, Eck McCanless Pottery, From the Ground Up, Red Hare Pottery and Thomas Pottery.
Each shop will have homemade treats and samples from The Table and Seagrove Cafe and tea samples from Carriage House Tea.
Shops will feature everything you need to serve tea. Shops are open 10-5 and are located along the NC Pottery Highway 705 and adjoining roads. Pick up a tea brochure and map at your first stop.

Sandhills Community College Jazz Band Concert

The SCC Jazz Band, the “Sound of Swing in the Sandhills”, will hold a concert on Monday, Feb 10, 2025 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. The Band will perform “Swingin’ Songs of Love and Romance” with both classic and contemporary Big Band stylings. The concert will feature favorites including “What the World Needs Now is Love”, “I’ll Never Fall in Love Again”, “Can’t Buy Me Love”, and” Can You Feel the Love Tonight”. It will be held at Sandhills Community College-Owens Auditorium, 395 Airport Road, Pinehurst, NC 28374

This is a free event, open to the public. Refreshments are available for purchase in the auditorium. SCC Rules do not permit refreshments to be brought in to the venue. Please register in advance for your free ticket at: https://ticketmesandhills.com.

Culdee Presbyterian Church

January 1, 2025 Culdee Presbyterian Church will serve a drive-thru lunch of pork loin, collards, black-eyed peas, dessert.

11:00am – 2:00 pm, Drive-thru only, $10.00/plate.

100% of proceeds divided between Carthage Food Pantry and Presbyterian Disaster Assistance for Western N C Hurricane Relief.
