Carolina Cinemas Sandhills 10 to Screen Hurricane Helene Recovery Documentary in Southern Pines

Southern Pines, NC — Carolina Cinemas Sandhills 10 is partnering with the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners (NCACC) to present Rising Above Helene, a powerful new documentary produced by NCACC’s 100 Strong Productions that highlights recovery efforts following Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina.

The documentary will be screened daily at 6:00 p.m. from January 22 through January 29 at Carolina Cinemas Sandhills 10, located at 104 Brucewood Road in Southern Pines.

A special launch event will take place on Thursday, January 22, when the film makes its debut at the theater.

Rising Above Helene tells the story of the strength, resilience, and determination of people and communities impacted by Hurricane Helene. Through heartfelt interviews, sweeping visuals, and on-the-ground storytelling, the documentary captures how neighbors across Western North Carolina came together to rebuild what was lost.

The film also highlights the important role of local governments, which helped coordinate emergency response efforts and support long-term rebuilding, working alongside volunteers and community members to restore hope and stability.
