Today’s edition of The Good, The Bad & The Ugly featured encouraging health news, an unbelievable DUI arrest, and a birthday cake that accidentally became internet-famous.
The Good: Optimism May Help Lower Dementia Risk
A new study from Harvard suggests that maintaining an optimistic outlook may do more than improve your mood—it could also benefit your brain health.
Researchers followed more than 9,000 Americans age 70 and older and found that individuals with higher levels of optimism had approximately a 15 percent lower risk of developing dementia.
The findings remained consistent regardless of race, existing health conditions, or depression levels.
Researchers believe optimism may be a skill that can be strengthened through mental exercises and therapy, potentially making it an important factor in healthy aging.
While the study does not prove optimism directly prevents dementia, it highlights the growing evidence that our mindset can influence long-term health outcomes.
The Bad: Driver Arrested with 34 Empty White Claw Cans
A Florida traffic stop quickly turned into a DUI arrest when deputies discovered dozens of empty White Claw cans inside a vehicle.
Authorities say 33-year-old Conor Parady was pulled over after being clocked traveling more than 90 miles per hour.
During the stop, officers noticed what they described as 34 empty White Claw cans stacked on the passenger seat.
Police also reported signs of heavy intoxication.
According to investigators, the driver later registered a blood alcohol content of 0.177, more than twice the legal limit.
He was arrested and charged with DUI.

A Florida man was arrested with 34 open cans of White Claw in his car.
The Ugly: Mom Accidentally Bakes a “Boob Cake”
A mom’s attempt to make a birthday cake shaped like the number eight has become a viral internet sensation.
The woman created the cake for her son’s eighth birthday by combining two circular cake shapes into the number eight.
Unfortunately, the combination of white icing, peach-colored centers, and decorative sprinkles made the cake resemble something entirely different.
The realization reportedly came when her husband walked into the kitchen and jokingly asked why she had made a “boob cake.”
Despite the unexpected design flaw, the cake still made it to the birthday party, and only one other adult reportedly noticed the resemblance.
Years later, the story has resurfaced online and is giving people a good laugh.
