The Woodlake double homicide victims identified by the Moore County Sheriff’s Office have brought new clarity to a tragic case that has shaken the Sandhills community.
Authorities confirmed that Kateryna Tovmash, 21, of Vass, and Matthew Wade, 28, of Hamilton, Mississippi, were the two individuals found deceased inside a home on Daphne Lane in the Woodlake community on February 14. Wade was stationed at Fort Bragg.
What Investigators Say About the Woodlake Double Homicide
According to the Moore County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 7:45 a.m. to reports of a shooting at Tovmash’s residence. Upon arrival, they discovered both victims inside the home.
Investigators say the Woodlake double homicide victims identified case involves suspect Caleb Hayden Fosnaugh, 25, of Ohio. Authorities confirmed Fosnaugh and Tovmash previously had a relationship while living in Ohio.
Fosnaugh faces charges including breaking and entering and two counts of murder.
Suspect Located Out of State
Following the incident, investigators believed the suspect had fled Moore County. Law enforcement agencies across multiple states coordinated efforts to locate him.
Officials later confirmed Fosnaugh was taken into custody in Ohio without incident. The Moore County Sheriff’s Office continues to lead the investigation.
