The Town of Robbins is moving forward with a major infrastructure investment that will modernize its water system and improve service for residents and businesses.

The more than $4 million project will replace aging water lines and install advanced metering infrastructure for nearly 600 homes. The new technology allows the town to detect leaks instantly, track water use in real time, and manage water service remotely.

Construction begins January 19 and is expected to be completed by the end of June.

Commissioners also discussed downtown litter control, a partnership with UNC–Chapel Hill to create a town development plan, and final legal steps to transfer the old police station to the Northern Moore Family Resource Center.
