SANFORD, NC — Patients across Lee and Moore counties now have expanded access to advanced heart care with the addition of a new interventional cardiologist at Central Carolina Cardiology.
Dr. Vinod Chaubey, a board-certified interventional cardiologist, has officially joined Central Carolina Cardiology as of January 2. The practice is located in the Medical Arts Building on Carthage Street next to Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.
Dr. Chaubey brings more than a decade of specialized training and experience in treating complex heart conditions. Most recently, he served as both an interventional cardiologist and the medical director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory at Conway Medical Center in South Carolina.
Originally from India, Dr. Chaubey earned his medical degree at the Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research before completing his residency and leadership training in Massachusetts. He later completed advanced fellowships in cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology, focusing on procedures that diagnose and treat blocked or narrowed heart arteries.
Dr. Chaubey is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease and specializes in treating coronary artery disease, heart rhythm disorders, cardiomyopathy, chest pain, and congestive heart failure. He will see adult patients of all ages.
Hospital leadership says his arrival strengthens the region’s ability to treat advanced heart and vascular conditions locally, reducing the need for patients to travel long distances for care.
With this addition, Central Carolina Hospital now offers a deeper team of heart specialists focused on delivering high-level cardiovascular care close to home.
