The Aberdeen Town Board of Commissioners has approved a rezoning request for a new residential development called Ten Pines, which will bring 305 new homes to the northern edge of Aberdeen. The project features single-family homes and age-targeted duplexes priced from the high $300,000s to the high $500,000s. Residents raised concerns about flooding, traffic, and school capacity, but engineering reviews confirmed measures to address drainage and traffic improvements, including planned road upgrades. While local elementary and middle schools can accommodate new students, Pinecrest High is already over capacity. The project now progresses to the next development phase, promising an upscale community with parks, pool, and recreation amenities.
