Wrestling With Purpose Hosts Band Fundraiser at Richmond Senior High School This Friday

It’s not your typical Friday night fundraiser. This week, the Marching Raiders at Richmond Senior High School are getting a boost from an unexpected corner — a faith-based, family-friendly wrestling promotion that’s making its way across the Sandhills one good cause at a time.

Wrestling With Purpose is hosting “A Raiders Roar” at Richmond Senior High School in Rockingham on Friday, April 10, 2026. All proceeds from the event go toward purchasing new uniforms for the school’s Marching Raiders band.

About Wrestling With Purpose

Wrestling With Purpose is a regional wrestling promotion that specializes in community fundraisers and charity events. The organization describes itself as faith-based and family friendly, and has been building a reputation across the Sandhills for showing up where communities need them most.

Just last week, the group hosted a fundraiser benefiting the Rape Crisis Center of Robeson County. Next month, they have another show lined up with proceeds going to Scotland High School’s amateur wrestling program in Laurinburg. The Richmond County show is the latest stop on a tour that’s doing real good for real communities across the region.

Why the Marching Raiders Need New Uniforms

The Marching Raiders are a proud part of Richmond Senior High School’s identity in Rockingham. Like many school band programs across the Sandhills, funding for equipment and uniforms can be hard to come by through traditional school budgets. Events like “A Raiders Roar” fill that gap — and give the whole community a reason to come together and have fun in the process.

The full event card has not yet been released, but organizers have confirmed the show is open to all ages. Doors are expected to open Friday evening at Richmond Senior High School.
