NCDOT seeks input on U.S. 15-501 widening near Pinehurst

The North Carolina Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting Tuesday, September 29, on a proposal to widen U.S. 15-501 between the Pinehurst traffic circle and N.C. 73.

The drop-in meeting runs from 5 to 7 p.m. at Christ Community Church, 220 Campground Road in West End. Project staff will be available for one-on-one conversations, but NCDOT says there will be no formal presentation.

The proposal would widen the road to four lanes with a median. NCDOT is evaluating two alternatives as it considers potential effects on properties along the route. The project remains in the planning stage.

Residents can review maps on the project website. Comments may be submitted before October 23 by emailing 15-501-widening@publicinput.com or calling 984-205-6615 and entering project code 11106.
