Sydney Roberts Wins 17th Carolinas Young Amateur Championship at Mid South Club

Southern Pines was the site of a standout performance in Carolinas golf as Clemson senior Sydney Roberts captured the 17th Carolinas Young Amateur Championship at the Mid South Club.

Roberts finished the two-day tournament at even-par 142, posting rounds of 69 and 73. She was the only player in the 24-golfer field to finish at par, winning the championship by three strokes.

Her opening round on Monday was especially impressive, as Roberts carded a bogey-free 69 that included two late birdies. That strong start gave her the cushion she needed to hold off the field on the final day, including runner-up Jillian Fatkin.

The Carolinas Young Amateur Championship brings together some of the top rising female golfers in the region, making Roberts’ victory even more meaningful. Her performance at Mid South Club adds another highlight to an already strong collegiate and amateur career.

With Pinehurst and the Sandhills continuing to attract high-level golf competition, Roberts’ win further reinforces the region’s reputation as one of the premier destinations for championship golf.
