Southern Pines Shooting Investigation Continues After Weekend Incident

A Southern Pines shooting investigation is continuing after one person was injured during a shooting Saturday afternoon near downtown Southern Pines. Authorities say the victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and detectives are continuing to gather evidence.

Southern Pines Shooting Investigation Remains Active

The shooting happened shortly after 4 p.m. near West Pennsylvania Avenue and North Stephens Street. Police say one person was shot twice in the leg and taken to the hospital in stable condition.

The West Pennsylvania Avenue bridge was temporarily closed while first responders worked the scene. It later reopened after the initial investigation.

Southern Pines Police have not released additional details, and the investigation remains ongoing.
