Grace Christian girls continue dominance

Grace Christian girls hoops continues to dominate as the No. 1 ranked Crusaders nearly doubled South Wake for a 79-44 win. The Crusaders were led by sophomore Kyndoll English with 17 points while Kennedy Jackson and Korryn Davis both scored 11 apiece for the win. Morie Poiraud was relentless on the glass, racking up 20 rebounds in the campaign. It was a sweep for Grace Christian as the boys closed out the night with a 72-62 win.

Hornets sting Lakers as Charlotte stuns LA, 135-117

Lamelo Ball put on a clinic in his hometown leading his Hornets to a convincing 135-117 win against the Lakers. Ball tied his career-high 9 three-pointers, scoring 27 of his 30 points in the second half alone. He also had 11 assists and 6 boards. But it was an balanced attack, as Brandon Miller and Miles Bridges scored 26 and 25 points respectively while the rookie and former Duke guard Kon Knueppel recorded 19 for the visitors. The signature win for Charlotte should be a turning point fr the 15 and 26

NC State, UNC and Duke women remain atop ACC

In womens hoops, NC State improves to 6-1 in the ACC with a 95-77 win against Wake Forest, while UNC tops Miami, 73-62 and Duke survives Virginia with a late push, 65-58.

And don’t forget, Monday the Sandhills Flyers hosts their annual Martin Luther King Jr Day tournament that will feature Union Pines and Pinecrest teams.
