One person was killed and two others were injured Thursday morning in a crash involving a vehicle and a golf cart in Pinehurst.
The collision happened shortly before 8 a.m. at the intersection of Beulah Hill Road and Shaw Road. WRAL reported that the person killed was a passenger in the golf cart.
A second person was airlifted from the scene with life-threatening injuries. A third patient was transported to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital for treatment. Authorities had not released the victims’ identities or provided an updated condition for either injured person at the time of publication.
The Village of Pinehurst announced a road closure shortly after the crash. Beulah Hill Road was closed between Cherokee Road and Linden Road while emergency crews and investigators worked at the scene.
Officials have not publicly explained what caused the collision. The sequence of events, the people involved and any potential charges remain under investigation.
