Carolina Cinemas Sandhills 10 has joined a national program called Flashback Cinema, bringing digitally restored classic movies back to the big screen with weekly showings.

Through the program, timeless Hollywood favorites will be screened on Sundays and Wednesdays, with select films shown on additional days. Each presentation features high-quality digital restoration, allowing audiences to experience beloved films the way they were meant to be seen — on a giant screen with immersive sound.

The program was launched in response to frequent requests from moviegoers eager to revisit classic films in a theatrical setting.

“Many of our customers have expressed a desire for this type of program,” said Jeremy Welman of Carolina Cinemas. “They want to see movies they’ve fallen in love with in the past in the same environment in which they enjoy today’s Hollywood blockbusters.”

More Than a Movie — It’s an Experience

Each Flashback Cinema screening includes a special on-screen introduction from host John Hersker, a film industry veteran and former Paramount Pictures executive, who adds behind-the-scenes insight and context before the movie begins.

Hersker says the program is especially meaningful for families.

“Parents who remember seeing a great film like Jurassic Park for the first time in a theatre can give their children the same experience,” he said. “There’s nothing like seeing your kids jump out of their seats when the T. rex appears on the big screen, just like you remember doing yourself.”
