One Killed, Two Injured in Fayetteville Shooting

Fayetteville police are investigating an early-morning shooting that left one person dead and two others injured Monday.

Officers responded shortly after 4 a.m. to a report of shots fired on Yadkin Road near Stratus Gentlemen’s Club. Police and emergency medical personnel found three people suffering from gunshot wounds.

One Man Pronounced Dead

First responders attempted lifesaving measures, but one man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police had not publicly identified him while authorities worked to notify his family.

Two other people were transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for treatment. Their identities and current medical conditions had not been released in the latest available reports.

Investigators placed numerous evidence markers outside the business while processing the scene. Authorities have not said whether the gunfire occurred inside or outside the club.

Homicide Investigation Underway

Fayetteville police are treating the case as a homicide investigation. Officials had not released information about a possible suspect, motive or the events leading to the shooting.

No arrest had been announced in the latest public update. Police also had not indicated whether the people who were shot knew one another.

Because the investigation remains active, details could change as detectives interview witnesses, review available video and complete forensic testing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Fayetteville Police Detective H. Vernon at 910-758-6700.

Anonymous information may be submitted to Fayetteville-Cumberland County Crime Stoppers by calling 910-483-TIPS, visiting the organization’s website or using the P3 Tips mobile application.
