The North Carolina Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting Tuesday, September 29, on a proposal to widen U.S. 15-501 between the Pinehurst traffic circle and N.C. 73.
The drop-in meeting runs from 5 to 7 p.m. at Christ Community Church, 220 Campground Road in West End. Project staff will be available for one-on-one conversations, but NCDOT says there will be no formal presentation.
The proposal would widen the road to four lanes with a median. NCDOT is evaluating two alternatives as it considers potential effects on properties along the route. The project remains in the planning stage.
