A Pinebluff man is facing three murder charges following the discovery of three adults who were found dead inside a Moore County home Wednesday morning.
Moore County sheriff’s deputies responded at approximately 8 a.m. on August 12 to a residence in the 100 block of Ryder Cup Boulevard in Pinebluff. Deputies found three adults dead inside the home, and investigators said the deaths appeared to be the result of homicide.
Suspect Faces Murder and Burglary Charges
Investigators identified 40-year-old Demetrius Louis Aggelis of Pinebluff as a suspect in the case. Aggelis has been charged with three counts of murder and one count of first-degree burglary.
He is being held in the Moore County Detention Center without bond, according to local reporting.
The charges are allegations. Aggelis is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
Flock Camera Evidence Assisted Investigation
The Moore County Sheriff’s Office said information obtained through the Flock Safety camera network, along with other evidence collected during the investigation, played a significant role in identifying Aggelis.
Flock cameras capture still images of vehicles and license plates traveling on public roads. Local law-enforcement agencies use the system to search for vehicles associated with criminal investigations, missing people and wanted suspects.
The technology has recently generated debate in Moore County over the balance between public safety and personal privacy. County commissioners are scheduled to hold a public work session concerning the camera network on Monday, August 17.
Victims’ Names Have Not Been Released
The Sheriff’s Office has not released the identities of the three victims while authorities work to notify their families. Investigators have also withheld information about how the victims died and whether they knew the suspect.
