Live television does not come with an undo button—and QVC personality Toni Brattin learned that firsthand during a recent wig presentation.
Brattin, the founder of Toni Brattin & Co., was demonstrating one of her company’s “Hair Fabulous” wigs when an innocent description took a very unexpected turn.
A “Blowout” Becomes Something Very Different
While showing viewers the wig’s texture and wave pattern, Brattin tried to explain that it looked like the wearer had just received a professional blowout at a salon.
Instead, she accidentally used a very different—and definitely NSFW—phrase.
Brattin immediately realized what she had said, paused and quickly corrected herself. She attempted to continue the presentation before laughter and embarrassment took over. Video of the moment shows her shaking her head, turning away from the camera and eventually crouching out of sight.
The QVC host working alongside Brattin managed to keep the presentation moving, although she and a nearby model also appeared to be fighting back laughter.
The Live-TV Moment Quickly Goes Viral
Clips of the slip-up quickly spread across social media, with viewers repeatedly sharing Brattin’s priceless reaction. Some commenters admitted they had watched the clip several times because they found her attempt to recover so funny.
The moment even caught the attention of Jimmy Fallon, who featured the viral clip during an episode of “The Tonight Show.”
Brattin later embraced the attention by sharing the moment on social media and joking about the unpredictability of live television.
QVC Was Supportive After the Mistake
Despite the embarrassing moment, Brattin said she did not get into trouble with QVC.
She told TMZ that everyone was able to laugh about the mistake once the broadcast ended. According to Brattin, the network contacted her the following morning, reassured her and thanked her for maintaining her professionalism during the awkward situation.
After spending approximately 30 years working in television, Brattin understands that mistakes can happen. Unfortunately—or fortunately for everyone watching—this particular mistake happened while the cameras were rolling.
