Southern Pines to Hold Grand Opening for New Town Hall

Town of Southern Pines

The Town of Southern Pines will invite residents inside its new town hall for a public grand opening and drop-in open house on Thursday, August 13.

The event will run from 4 to 7 p.m. and give visitors an opportunity to tour the approximately 21,000-square-foot Southern Pines Town Hall, meet town employees and learn more about municipal services.

What Visitors Can Expect

Town officials say employees from multiple departments will participate in interactive activities during the open house. Residents will be able to get a behind-the-scenes look at the building and ask questions about the work handled by town staff.

The new town hall is located at the corner of Southwest Broad Street and West Massachusetts Avenue in the former First Bank corporate office. Southern Pines purchased the building in late 2025 for $6.4 million.

Town Services Brought Under One Roof

The move is intended to consolidate employees who had been working in several older municipal buildings. When the purchase was announced, town leaders said bringing more departments together would improve efficiency, make services easier for residents to access and reduce the cost of maintaining multiple aging properties.

The building is described as the community’s first official Southern Pines Town Hall. The August 13 grand opening will be a drop-in event, allowing residents to arrive at any time between 4 and 7 p.m.

Those planning to attend should watch the Town of Southern Pines website and social-media pages for any parking instructions or additional event information released before the open house.
