A 64-year-old Robbins man is facing nine charges following a search conducted by detectives with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office.
According to information released by the sheriff’s office, detectives executed a search warrant at a home in the 300 block of Scaleybark Lane in Robbins on Friday, July 24.
Investigators reported finding and seizing suspected methamphetamine, oxycodone, alprazolam, drug paraphernalia, marijuana paraphernalia, nontax-paid liquor and a firearm during the search.
Authorities arrested Michael Randolph on Monday, July 27, as a result of the investigation.
Nine Charges Filed Following Investigation
Randolph was charged with trafficking in opium or heroin and possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine.
Additional charges include possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances and possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance.
He was also charged with possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of nontax-paid alcohol and possession of a firearm by a felon.
The trafficking charge is an allegation filed as part of the criminal case. The sheriff’s office identified the substances reportedly seized during the search as suspected methamphetamine, oxycodone and alprazolam.
Bond and Court Appearance
Randolph was booked into the Moore County Detention Center under a $50,000 secured bond.
He is scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on Thursday, Aug. 13. Court dates can be changed as cases move through the judicial system.
The charges represent accusations made by law enforcement. Randolph is presumed innocent unless and until he is proven guilty in a court of law.
Search Conducted on Scaleybark Lane
The investigation centered on a residence in the 300 block of Scaleybark Lane, located in the Robbins area of northern Moore County.
Sheriff Ronnie Fields said the suspected controlled substances, paraphernalia, alcohol and firearm were seized by detectives during the execution of the search warrant.
A search warrant allows law-enforcement officers to search a specific location for evidence described in an application reviewed by a judicial official. The filing of criminal charges following a search does not determine whether a defendant is guilty.
The case will proceed through the Moore County court system, where prosecutors will be responsible for presenting evidence supporting the charges. Randolph will have the opportunity to respond to the allegations through the legal process.
No additional arrests connected to the July 24 search were identified in the information released by the sheriff’s office.
