A Sanford man is facing multiple charges after Lee County deputies said a search of a home uncovered 45 firearms, approximately 17 pounds of marijuana and more than $17,000 in cash.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, members of the agency’s narcotics division searched a home in the 2000 block of Nob Hill Drive in Sanford on July 21.
Investigators said the search resulted in the seizure of a large collection of firearms. One of the weapons was described as a rifle equipped with an auto sear.
An auto sear is a device designed to allow a semiautomatic firearm to fire automatically. The sheriff’s office said the device found during the search was installed on one of the seized rifles.
Deputies also reported finding approximately 17 pounds of marijuana inside the home, along with more than $17,000 in cash.
The sheriff’s office arrested 23-year-old Aden Grey Williams following the search.
Williams is facing multiple drug-related charges and a charge of possessing a machine gun. Authorities did not immediately release a complete list of the charges included in the case.
Williams was taken before a Lee County magistrate and ordered held without bond, according to the sheriff’s office.
The investigation was conducted by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division. The agency has not said whether additional arrests or charges are anticipated.
The seizure comes as law enforcement agencies continue working to identify cases involving illegal drug distribution and firearms. Authorities did not provide an estimated street value for the marijuana or identify the ownership history of the weapons.
All criminal charges are allegations. Williams is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
