Water And Sewer Capacity Concerns
Carthage officials reported that existing water and sewer systems are approaching capacity and that future expansion projects could cost millions of dollars.
Similar concerns were echoed by leaders from surrounding counties dealing with development in both incorporated and unincorporated areas.
Seeking Long-Term Solutions
State Public Safety Secretary Jeffrey Smythe said information gathered during the listening sessions will be shared with Governor Josh Stein’s administration and state policymakers.
Local leaders hope the discussions will lead to funding opportunities and policy solutions that help rural communities manage future growth.
