The latest round of Moore County Community Foundation grants is bringing more than $115,000 back into the community, providing critical support to nearly 30 local nonprofits and organizations serving residents throughout Moore County.
The Moore County Community Foundation recently announced $115,450 in grant awards that will help fund programs focused on healthcare, education, food assistance, housing, animal welfare, youth development, and family support.
From Southern Pines and Pinehurst to Aberdeen and communities across the Sandhills, the funding will help organizations continue services that improve the quality of life for thousands of local residents.
Moore County Community Foundation Grants Support Community Needs
The grants were awarded through the foundation’s community grantmaking fund, along with support from the John W. Roffe and Marjorie A. Roffe Endowment and the Sarah McCain Currie Endowment.
Each year, the foundation’s advisory board reviews applications from eligible nonprofits, schools, churches, and community organizations to determine where funding can have the greatest impact.
This year’s grants support a wide range of initiatives, from emergency assistance and healthcare services to educational programs and pet adoption efforts.
According to foundation leaders, the goal is to create a lasting source of community support that benefits Moore County residents both now and for future generations.
Largest Grant Recipients in 2026
Several organizations received significant funding through this year’s grant cycle.
- $21,750 to Moore Free & Charitable Clinic for operating support
- $16,750 to Northern Moore Family Resource Center for the HOPE Academy Preschool Food Program
- $7,500 to Caring Hearts for Canines for its spay and neuter program
- $5,000 to Family Promise of Moore County for family and rental assistance
- $5,000 to Habitat for Humanity of the NC Sandhills
- $5,000 to Friend to Friend
- $5,000 to Sandhills/Moore Coalition for Backpack Pals
- $5,000 to Partners for Children & Families for the Essentials Care Pantry
The grants will help organizations address some of the region’s most pressing needs, including affordable housing, food insecurity, healthcare access, and support for families facing hardship.
Wide Range of Organizations Benefit
In addition to the larger grants, funding was distributed to many well-known organizations throughout Moore County.
Recipients include Meals on Wheels of the Sandhills, The Arc of Moore County, Arts Council of Moore County, Autism Society of North Carolina, Girls on the Run Sandhills, Legal Aid of North Carolina, Pretty in Pink Foundation, Sandhills Children’s Center, Weymouth Center for the Arts & Humanities, and the American Red Cross.
These organizations serve residents of all ages and backgrounds, from young children and students to seniors, veterans, and individuals with disabilities.
The grants also support programs that enhance community wellness, educational opportunities, and access to essential services.
