The Sandhills Community College Golf National Championship streak is alive and well. The Sandhills Community College Flyers men’s golf team captured its sixth consecutive NJCAA Division III National Championship, continuing one of the most dominant runs in college athletics.
The championship was secured at Chautauqua Golf Club, where the Flyers finished the four-day tournament at 4-over-par. Sandhills posted rounds of 294, 287, 287, and 288 to finish 42 strokes ahead of second-place Delta College.
The victory means Sandhills Community College has won every NJCAA Division III men’s golf national championship since 2021, cementing the program’s status as a national powerhouse.
Historic Performance by the Flyers
The Flyers took control of the tournament early and never looked back. After building a six-stroke lead following the opening round, Sandhills expanded its advantage with back-to-back under-par team rounds during the middle stages of the championship.
By the start of the final round, the Flyers held a commanding 28-stroke lead. The team closed out the tournament in dominant fashion, ultimately winning by 42 shots.
Delta College finished second at 46-over-par, while the College of DuPage placed third at 50-over-par. Georgia Military College finished fourth at 51-over-par.
Sebastian Haug Captures Individual National Title
Adding to the celebration, Sandhills golfer Sebastian Haug claimed the individual national championship.
Haug finished the tournament at 4-under-par and was the only golfer in the entire field to finish under par. His rounds of 74, 69, 70, and 71 secured a four-stroke victory over the competition.
His championship performance continues a remarkable tradition within the Flyers program. Haug became the fifth consecutive Sandhills golfer to win an individual national championship and the seventh overall in program history.
