Raeford Driver License Office Now Open 5 Days a Week — Full Services Resume

NCDMV

Drivers in Hoke and Moore counties just got some welcome news. The Raeford driver license office is now open five days a week, offering full DMV services starting April 8, 2026 — and that means fewer long drives to Fayetteville or Aberdeen to take care of your license needs.

As outlined in the NC Division of Motor Vehicles’ statewide staffing plan, the Raeford office at 3144 Highway 401 Business is now open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The office is also accepting appointments for the first time, which customers can book at skiptheline.ncdot.gov.

What Services Are Available at the Raeford DMV

The Raeford driver license office offers a full range of services including driver license and ID card issuances, duplicates and renewals, REAL IDs, and written, knowledge, and road skills testing. Note that CDL and motorcycle skills testing are not available at this location — customers needing those services should contact a larger office.

This expansion is good news for residents across Hoke County and the southern end of Moore County who previously had to travel to Aberdeen, Hamlet, or Fayetteville for DMV services. The Raeford office had been closed since August 2024 due to a staffing shortage, reopened on limited hours in early 2025, and has now reached full five-day service — the last of eight part-time offices across North Carolina to make the upgrade.

How to Book a Raeford DMV Appointment

Walk-ins are welcome, but the office now accepts appointments to help reduce wait times. Head to skiptheline.ncdot.gov to schedule your visit. Many standard services — like license renewals — can also be handled online at MyNCDMV.gov, so check there first before making the drive.
