Pinehurst Strategic Initiatives Update Highlights Library, Firefighters, Sidewalk Projects

Pinehurst update

The Pinehurst strategic initiatives update for FY 2026 shows significant progress across public safety, infrastructure, and redevelopment planning.

The Village of Pinehurst released its quarterly strategic operating plan update, outlining progress through December 31, 2025.

Library Construction and Fire Response Improvements

The Given Memorial Library project has officially entered the construction phase. Contracts have been executed, permits issued, and coordination meetings are ongoing.

Public safety also saw major gains. Pinehurst was awarded a SAFER grant funding 75 percent of six new firefighter positions. The new hires are already operating as part of a Quick Response Unit aimed at reducing emergency response times.

Sidewalks, Greenways, and Redevelopment Planning

Sidewalk and greenway projects continue throughout Pinehurst. Phase I of the Juniper Creek Boulevard sidewalk has been completed, with additional phases scheduled. The Village is also coordinating with NCDOT on greenway design along Airport Road.

Work is advancing on Village Place redevelopment planning and potential relocation of Public Services facilities.

Village leaders say the Pinehurst strategic initiatives update reflects a focus on thoughtful growth and neighborhood quality across the Sandhills.
