A class action settlement tied to a Pinehurst Radiology data breach is moving forward, pending final court approval, potentially affecting thousands of former patients across Moore County.
What Happened
Pinehurst Radiology Associates closed permanently in June 2025 following a computer hacking incident earlier in the year. The breach exposed sensitive personal and medical information, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, and treatment details.
Who Is Affected
The settlement applies to roughly 8,600 former patients whose information may have been compromised. Plaintiffs allege the practice failed to adequately protect data and delayed notifying affected individuals.
Settlement Details
If approved, eligible class members may receive up to $500 for documented losses, along with one year of medical and identity monitoring services that include up to $1 million in identity theft insurance.
A final approval hearing is scheduled for April 6. Claims must be submitted by April 9 through PinehurstRadiologySettlement.com.
