The Aberdeen Board of Commissioners has postponed action on several key agenda items, opting to continue discussions during a work session scheduled for Monday, February 9 at 6 p.m..

Zoning Overlay Discussion Headed to Work Session

Among the delayed items is a public hearing related to a proposed N.C. 5 Priority Corridor Overlay. The overlay is designed to align local zoning with updated town regulations that establish design standards near major transportation corridors such as N.C. 5 and U.S. 1.

Public Works Safety Funding

Commissioners are also expected to consider a budget amendment to purchase safety barriers for the town’s Public Works Department. The funding would come from the NCDOT Powell Bill program, which supports municipal road maintenance and safety improvements.

Regional Representation and Audit Report

The February work session agenda also includes a report from the town auditor and discussion of appointing representatives to the Central Pines Regional Council, which supports long-range planning and regional coordination across Moore County.

Residents can find meeting details and agendas through the Town of Aberdeen.
