Moore County Man Arrested on Sexual Exploitation of a Minor Charges

A Moore County resident has been arrested following a child exploitation investigation involving online material, according to the Moore County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Ronnie Fields announced that Jarrod Joseph Rogers, 41, of Carthage, was taken into custody after investigators received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which triggered a forensic investigation.

Investigation and Arrest Details

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the investigation led forensic specialists to Rogers. On January 22, 2026, investigators, with assistance from special agents from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation Computer Crimes Unit, executed a search warrant at Rogers’ residence in Carthage.

As a result of the investigation, Rogers was charged with:

  • Five counts of Felony Second-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor
  • Five counts of Felony Third-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor

Bond and Court Information

Rogers was committed to the Moore County Detention Center under a $500,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on February 19, 2026.

Ongoing Efforts to Protect Children

The Moore County Sheriff’s Office noted that it is an active participant in the North Carolina Internet Crimes Against Children (NCICAC) Task Force, which focuses on identifying, investigating, and preventing online exploitation and abuse involving minors.

Officials emphasized the importance of partnerships between local, state, and national agencies in protecting children and holding offenders accountable.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
