A traffic checkpoint in Richmond County has resulted in a felony drug trafficking arrest.
Deputies stopped a vehicle driven by 35-year-old Grayson Kane Goodman when a K-9 unit alerted officers to possible narcotics. A search of the vehicle reportedly uncovered 7.65 grams of fentanyl, along with digital scales and smoking devices.
Investigators say illicitly manufactured fentanyl is especially dangerous because its strength and makeup are unpredictable. The amount recovered could contain thousands of potentially fatal doses.
Goodman was charged with felony trafficking in fentanyl and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into jail on a $100,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court later this month.
